At the root of all desire is the wish for life to prevail.
In essence, desire is the thirst for the upliftment of life.
Even the most distorted and damaging wanting, distilled to its core, will bring the desirer back to their longing for life to raise them up.
Working with the essence of desire has been one of the most potent tools for me in navigating the great loss and grief of my two recent love relationship break ups.
I’ve frequently found myself caught in the pain stories of ‘I don’t want to live without him’, ‘How can he have loved me so much and not choose me now’ etc, etc.
When I’ve dropped into the core of my desire to be in love relationship with my Brazilian ex-beloved, I have felt relief from the pain stories and a boost to again step into life.

Not me more than them, or them more than me, but for life to prevail in each of our lives, and carry each of us to the greatest happiness.
In this core place, the grip of my attachment to the form of my happiness coming in love relationship with my Brazilian ex-beloved, is loosened. I can let my fixating on this particular form melt. At the core of my desire is for me, each of my ex-beloved’s and for all humans to be uplifted by life. And from this place I can even look warmly, with a smile in my heart, upon the love relationship that my Brazilian ex-beloved is choosing instead of being together with me.
